Idella Childs

Lincoln Normal School, located in Marion, in Perry County, was the decisive factor in the unusual number of doctors of philosophy as well as other records of higher achievement on the part of Negroes who came from this predominately rural, black, impoverished and culturally deprived county in the very “Heart of Dixie.”

This was brought to the nation’s attention through the research of Idella Childs.

Historic Lincoln Auditorium Rental

The Auditorium Theatre is available to rent for performances, public, private, indoor and outdoor events. The Lincoln Campus Auditorium is a National Historic Landmark in Alabama.

The campus rental spaces consist of the General Assembly Area in the Classroom Addition Building, Covered Pavillion with Lawn Area and the Historic Lincoln Auditorium with Stage.
