The Lincolnite Club, Inc. was incorporated in February 1985 as a 501(c) (3) Tax Exempt Corporation with a mission to preserve, revitalize, and perpetuate the Lincoln School Legacy. The principal purpose of this corporation included the acquisition, operation, and preservation of all buildings and land, “about 10 acres more or less”, on the Campus, formerly occupied by “The Lincoln School of Marion, Alabama”; and particularly that portion of said property which includes Phillips Memorial Auditorium; The Gymnasium and The Classroom Addition Building.

0n April 21, 2002 the  Lincolnite Club, Inc. Lincoln Memorial Museum was established for the purpose of showing and telling the Lincoln School story by housing the artifacts, historical documents, memorabilia, videos, photos, newspaper articles, etc. and to showcase the culture of the community, perpetuating the legacy of Lincoln School.

The Mission of the Lincolnite Club is to preserve, revitalize, and perpetuate the Lincoln School Legacy.

Lincoln Normal School in Marion, Alabama was among the first schools established for the education of freed slaves after the Civil War.
