0n April 21, 2002 the Lincolnite Club, Inc. Lincoln Memorial Museum was established for the purpose of showing and telling the Lincoln School story by housing the artifacts, historical documents, memorabilia, videos, photos, newspaper articles, etc. and to showcase the culture of the community, perpetuating the legacy of Lincoln School.
Lincoln Normal School in Marion, Alabama was among the first schools established for the education of freed slaves after the Civil War.
